Possible Memory Leak (or something similar?)

I'm not sure what's going on, but when I first open the client and play a few games everything runs smoothly, but as the hours go by it just gets slower and slower to the point where there's almost a full second lag between my messages being typed and appearing on the screen, or clicking on a tab and the tab showing up. Closing and restarting the client seems to fix the issue temporarily.

I checked the league processes in task manager and none of them seemed to be using what I would consider an abnormal amount of memory for a 2d game client (I'm just assuming that anything >1.5GB is abnormal) so I'm not sure what's going on exactly.

It's farming bitcoins.

100% the case of memory leak.

I played about 8 games of poro king in a row last night. After playing for a while, I left the post match screen on in the background while browsing some online forums and youtube. When I went to close the client and shutdown my computer before I went to bed everything just froze. My entire computer froze from the client. It took 30 seconds for the Windows task manager to open when it normally takes one second. The league client was the only program open at the time. Even after after the client was closed my computer took much much longer than usual to process normal tasks and to shutdown.

I see this behavior too, but as you've all noticed it's not accompanied by a vast increase in RAM usage, so it's not a memory leak. You might want to look up what that is. And it's not accompanied by a vast increase in CPU usage, either, so it's not mining bitcoins (you know that was a joke, and I know it was a joke, but some people may not).

Happens to me too, the more games you play, the slower it gets. I've seen it happen to streamers too.

It's weird...I left the client open over night once (rather recently), playing the occational game. However, the client got gradually slower and slower and slower. https://boards.na.leagueoflegends.com/en/c/bug-report/km67EyZE-huge-fps-drops-in-game-in-both-sr-and-tft-since-patch-922-came-out?comment=0004

...until it finally crashed. No warning, no unresponding application error, it just shut itself down and automatically restarted.

Here's the weird part: It didn't take more RAM than usual and the CPU load was negligible. So what the hell actually happened with the client, I have no idea. Never happened to me before (on prior crashes, it at least gives an error - this time, nothing!), and never happened since.

I have had a proper memory leak though, but that was with Firefox (v.69): 2 tabs open (this was a replicable error), and upon opening any image on a specific web page (reputable webshop), the RAM counter started.

Didn't catch it the first time, until I was suddenly told I didn't have enough RAM to open even a small .jpg image in my editing software. And found Firefox taking 26 GB RAM (of 32).

There is definitely a memory leak. This should be addressed.

I have something similar but it happens like 40 mins after I leave the client open without touching it, and then it forces me to relogin.

me too but I get it from the game with the client closed

definitely a memory leak. My system slows down and typically crashes about 5 games in with the client open.

That definitely seems like a memory leak. It might be helpful to test out different things with the client, ex. Low spec mode, close client when game starts option, things like that too see if anything specific can be found, then just post the information in another thread.
