[Client] MAJOR CHAT ISSUES

Hi, I am having massive chat issues. I recently got out of a game where I played Viktor, and I always say "ggwp" in the post-game lobby. However, this time, it said "Unable to connect to chat, you may reconnect manually". Except I couldn't. I had to restart the client, and then it gave me the error "Logging onto chat service" and then sent me back to the previous error. Any suggestions? EDIT: I can get into a game just fine, but I cannot talk in the lobby. I also cannot view my friends list. EDIT 2: I also cannot see the "featured games" panel.

May I ask what IP you all are using? My friend and I are having this same issue. We are both in Utah using Comcast, and I think that could be the problem

10 hours later and it is still an issue for me. Is there anyone from Riot that reads these that can give us any information on why this is happening?

This problem is rather annoying especially because there is nowhere that League is admitting that it is a problem or that it is being worked on.

Same region, same ISP, same timeframe. I had my suspicions that it had to do with Comcast and I think they've just been validated.

I used a program to simulate an ISP elsewhere and was able to get connected back to LoL chat - Unfortunately there's higher ping and random ping spikes.

Live in Colorado, have Comcast.

I've been trying to figure this out for the past 30 min haha. Guess it is comcast. Please let us know if anyone figures out a solution.

I am having this exact problem, I have a 2008 macbook.

I've found a temporary solution to this problem. Find a free VPN online. Not going to link anything or name any names in case it goes against Riot's forum rules, but you can find one on Google easily.

Keep in mind your ping will go up depending on the connection of the VPN. Though, you will be able to connect to chat again.

press windowskey+R, then type in cmd in the window poped out and hit enter, and then type in ipconfig/flushdns in the new window pop out, hit enter.
