New [CLIENT] Opening But Not Focusing, Causing U To Write U Password Somewhere U Didnt Intend To

E: Just noticed the dumb error in the title, welp. Was out of letters anyways :p

Here is my reddit post on the subject

As someone who writes a relatively long password, very quickly, it sometimes occurs that I write my password somewhere I didn't intend to, simply because the client pops up, as it should, but doesn't actually "Focus", causing the person to write the Password in the previously open chat room (Or comment section, or whatever) Can be YouTube comments, Discord, Skype, Twitch Chat - A lot of public places, some less so. Can also be your word document though, and in that case it probably doesn't matter.

It has happened to me twice, once in twitch chat, another in discord. Changed the password when I wrote it in Twitch chat, was a relatively small stream and I know most of the viewers so I'm not very worried, and the message in Discord was deleted after about 3 seconds, so I'm not worried about that either - What I'm worried about is this happening to people who are less fortunate.

It happens when you are writing somewhere, could even happen to me as I'm writing this, then you open your client, and you "forget" to click on the client (That causes it to focus, but since the old one was automatically in focus, this isn't a habit) you end up writing your password, and you don't notice that it actually didn't write anything, until you realise the client isn't loading you in, and then realise you just wrote your super secret password in PewDiePie's YouTube comments, or whatever, right. I think this is an issue. I'm done here. : ^)

Hello, can you describe your machine specs and what you were doing when this occurs? ie: did you start the client, then alt tab away while it is loading? If you can be very specific about the timing, that would be great. And by that, I mean are you switching applications while the splash screen is up, or after the client window has opened and is showing the loading spinner? We're having trouble reproducing this bug on our end.

This is a standing joke in our Discord chat by now... I think at least four of us have done it.

This happens for legacy, as well. It isn't specific to the new client.

This is not a League bug, it is a Windows bug.

And it has been around since Windows Vista, with no fix in sight.

The bug: Windows show up in the foreground and don't gain focus - or don't show up in the foreground at all. I've had both instances happen - popups popping up without focus, and popups popping up behind other windows entirely.

Your best bet is to get used to it, or reinstall Windows.

Here's a link (this bug is seven years old - multiple versions of windows - and still not fixed): https://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/office/en-US/c7b0e69b-64b7-437d-9f7b-dde53de6a0a8/new-window-opens-behind-existing-window-how-to-modify?forum=w7itproui

This literally just happened yesterday. Thank god it was at a time where no one was online, but i randomly typed my password in my discord server because it did this. I only use this password for League anyway and they didn't know my username. However, this would have been devastating if they realized and decided to fuck with my account.

It's been like this since forever, annoying to not steal focus, or just flash yellow as 100% of (well at least windows) apps that change their state to the one where user input is required.

This also goes for being in queue and accepting a match, with low or no sound on. However when you missed the accept, THEN it flashes, very useful indeed. This also goes for being in champ select and picking/banning, with low or no sound on. A flash of the client window would be so helpful instead of -3lp, if you're alt tabbed for any reason, like looking for a counter pick, or are just bored AF looking at the most idiotic trend ever: picking/banning at second ZERO. Once that starts, 1+ sheep will always follow.

Can second this, had the same problem myself earlier.

I have had this recently too. You click on the button to launch LoL, then right after, click on whatever program you are running in the background (i.e. a web browser), and once the client loads, it pops up above the web browser. You go to type your password in, but it types it into whatever you had selected in the web browser, and you actually have to click on the LoL client to be able to type into it.

Happens every time I load it currently
