Unable to launch League of Legends

Woke up today and sat through the update. Saw that the server was still down due to the new patch so I let it update fully before I shut my computer down. Finally trying to log on now and I get this pop-up that says "Update Failed" and I have the the choice to either continue or to send my logs in. I have clicked both continue and send logs and I am unable to launch still. It then becomes a bugsplat (which I have sent two of, an initial one that briefly described what happened, and a second one with a bit more detail). After I select either option, it begins to "Scan" a single file but can not get past this point. What could have caused this launch failure? I waited till the entire patch was downloaded before shutting off, as the Launch button at the top was finally up after it all finished but was gray as the server was still down due to the patch. I have access to the patch notes, and everything else on the launcher, but it just won't launch the game.
