Game made me dodge during a promo

I was in rank second pick and my mid was asking me for my role. I had clicked in ahri at 3 seconds and was waiting to see what the midwould pick incase I would need to swap to a support role if they did not choose a support. When they got gangplank I swapped to leona at 1 second but it made me dodge when the timer hit 0 even though I had (two) champions selected at the time.
