I found a fix that works for me. Please try this and let me know if it works for you to. Click on the upper right hand corner of your friends list, click "group by mobile." "group by offline." - Once both of those are checked this should resolve any issues with matches loading. I think it has something to do with the size of your friends list and sorting the information.
I had the exact same problem and got 2 dodges in ranked because of this and had to wait like 30 minutes to be able to play again super frustrating.

It is a beta not a fully released version. You are not required to use the the beta client. You can use the legacy client until the new client is out of beta.
