Is the S rank bugged?

I am Bob Ross·7/17/2016, 11:40:18 PM·2 votes·1,004 views

So i went 31/4 with jhin adc. Had the most damage, cs, ect. in the game and got a A+. i am a litle salty yes..... but please someone explain. Is it not at all based on the kda? To top it off i got a penta too and dont get even an S-. This is kinda of a rant but I also believe this is either a bug or an issue. If any role did insanely well they should get an at least an S. Example. support with like half of the assist of the game should get high grade or top lane with a crazy amount of cs.

if a ritoier or whoever want to see the game here is the link http://matchhistory.na.leagueoflegends.com/en/#match-details/NA1/2243409860/222715591?tab=overview

They also base it off your CS. You need to have at least 200+ by the 300 to improve your score. They compare your score with others that play Jihn to rank you. I am not saying it's fair, but that's the way they do it.

From what I understand, it's k/d/a, CS, objective participation and kill participation. Your kills are wicked, btw.

I have that problem myself. I keep doing last-hit drills in custom and bot matches to improve my CS. It's darn hard, but I'm getting there.

Just went 0/0/18 as nami (64% kill participation) in a 27 min game. Over half of it was from teamfights. Placed massive wards/min and did more dmg than most of their team. Got an A. They really need to release some better info on what criteria they use and how you scored in each general area.

riot uses a weird set of rules whne giving grades, like how much damage you did, if you get to many kills on lower lvled enemies it hurts the grade. almost like it punishes you for being fed. I had this same problem a few weeks ago on a couple of my brand games

Whenever I want S rank I just go stand behind baron pit and lob spells in. Rack up the damage and it'll almost guarantee srank.

Unfortunately, the rules to determine the grade are a secret that only Riot knows. This is (supposedly) to prevent people from abusing the system. I see that point, but right now it's pretty much a crap-shoot what grade you get. I've done really well and received a C or B. I've done poorly and earned A+. Grades just don't accurately represent how you performed in a game.

It's even worse for supports (even with the recent change). Saves mean nothing in the grade (unless maybe doing so results in a kill). The assumption is that wards placed/destroyed count, but then you get people constantly placing wards and recalling...instead of actually placing them in the most useful places and as needed. It's also encouraged some pretty "unusual" champ + role combinations. I'm not against that, but 9 times out of 10 it doesn't go well or at least doesn't go well with the team comp. The goal is (usually) to get an S grade because not many people play that champ in that role (i.e. AP lucian), so all you have to do is basically do alright.

I was fine with the grading system until they linked it to rank 6 and 7 masteries. Suddenly, it was no longer about playing well and winning and mastering the champ. There was now a real incentive to ensure you individually had good stats instead of actually doing what's necessary to win the game.

KDA is a factor, but there are others as well. Most CS in game isn't relevant, but actual CS is. If you have low cs but high kills, it kinda balances out when weighted for ranking. 151 in 31 min isn't really amazing. You're also rated against other player who play Jhin in bot lane, so that also needs to be factored in to each thing that is weighted.
