Today I missed the first 6 minutes of a game because the game kept crashing immediately upon attempting to load. I've had my firewall turned off while playing League ever since the 4.21 patch.
I recognize this has probably been reported previously, as it's happening to many people, but I'm going to report it here again so you folks at Riot can stop pretending this problem doesn't exist.

I get the same problem. This happened to me twice today, to me and my duo partner, and it always happened during the same games. 2/5 games it would fail to load the game. I coudlnt get it to work without restarting my entire PC, and even still this sometimes didnt help.
still happening, but according to RIOT it's because of your turned **off **firewall, or internet connexion only solution so far for me, close the game entirely and start over
that is bull i have tried turning my firewall on and making exceptions they are just lying till they figure out what is wrong with it
Still happening - reinstalling client now, but, this happened about a week and a half ago and it took Riot 5 hours from problem onset to even acknowledge there were server stability issues. The Riot post that finally confirmed there was an issue said "yeah, sorry it took me 5 hours to post this guys, but, not a lot I could do at 3:00am PST" - I want someone from Riot to acknowledge there is an issue and state what is being done to fix.
