Silver 2 In A Diamond Game?

I was spectating my fiance's solo q game, and noticed there was a silver 2 in the game. How does a silver 2 get into a Diamond MMR game while he is on a lose streak? I checked the Ezreal's profile on 5 different sources, Lolking, Lolnexus, Lolskill, op.gg and the League Client. All say he is Silver 2 in Ranked solo/duo. And even if he was silver there wasn't even anybody he could duo with to raise his mmr that high.

Did matchmaking finally completely lose its mind?
