Someone dodged a game, and I got hit with leaverbuster?

I was in a ranked lobby, someone dodged and the screen returned to the home page, but somehow I got hit with the leaver penalty? I wasn't aware it was even possible to dodge without closing the entire client, but it just tossed me right back to the lobby. Lost 3LP, for what little that is worth.
