Is there a bug with Fizz's trickster damage?

I started playing Fizz again. Granted, it's been a while since I played Fizz, but I feel like there's a bug with his trickster. Sometimes, I don't see any damage on to my opponent when i land right near them, sometimes even right on to them. Just wondering if anyone else has been seeing something similar.
