Lost series because game wouldn't lock in.

Just queued up for my final promo game to Plat 2 and I picked Jax and the Lock In button was blacked out and it wouldn't let me lock him in causing me to dodge and therefore making me drop out of series. Has this happened to anyone else? Not gonna lie I'm pretty tilted at this moment because of this and I would really like to know why it happened.
