Drophacks?

I'm going to copy and paste the ticket(s) I sent into Support and give you all the response I got from riot Support, if you can call these actual responses.

Ticket I was just in a ranked game as Braum and we were just about to win when I got attempting to reconnect. This is RIGHT WHEN we're about to push the nexus. My came crashes, I get the bugsplat screen, I try to log in and the game is no longer in session. It is not showing on my recent games either. I'm extremely frustrated at the moment that I was just about to win a match, not get credit for it, and potentially I might risk getting reported for going "AFK" because the game crashed at that moment.

And if you don't believe me you can contact my friend who was spectating the game for majority if not the entirety of the match. Username "**********" (Didn't include for his privacy) and he will tell you that I did in fact play a ranked game at approximately 7:20ish and the game was about to finish. This is beyond annoying, ridiculous, and will ultimately harm me in my provisional and takes away the win I was just about to get. It's not even showing I played a fourth provisional game, which this would have been.

Also my friend told me while he was spectating that he was dropped from spectating of the match I was in. So either this was a deliberate attempt from one of the players on the other team to avoid a loss or your server did this. This is so aggravating, I wasted at least 30 minutes in a game that my team and I won and not only does it count like it never happened but I just ultimately wasted my time. Are you all encouraging Drop Hacks, if that is what this is, or are you not going to do anything to make up for this? I'm sorry, but this is so upsetting. I don't have the time to piss away time and time again; I wanted to get my provisional done, but thanks I'm not comfortable going in rank atm not knowing if it's a random instance or your fault.

Riot Employee Response 1

I know that disconnects, dodges, and losses sometimes happen for reasons beyond your control, but we’re not able to change the outcome of these games. We can’t alter the database once a game is complete and recorded in it. This means we can’t change a Leave or a Loss, nor can we manually adjust any League Points gained or lost from the game.

The “Loss Prevented” that sometimes appears in match history is only applied during server-wide instability or lag. We can’t apply Loss Prevented to individual matches.

If you find yourself disconnecting frequently, it may be an issue with your computer or network. If so, please let me know and I can help you troubleshoot those issues. I still won’t have a way to alter your record, but hopefully we can reduce the chance of this happening in the future.

Warm regards,

Player Support Specialist Riot Games

My Response. This was not because simply a disconnect, dodge, or a loss. The game was dropped completely, like it never happened; my attempting to reconnect had nothing to do with it seeing as even a friend who spectated the match said he was dropped from spectating because the game ceased to exist. As stressed, the match doesn't even show up in the match history at all.

If it had been a "Lost" or "leave" said match would still be in my match history and it's not. Meaning, that the game was dropped entirely and my connection or otherwise quality of it has nothing to do with the issue that I've submitted.

Second Riot Employee Response. Thanks for the email. I know how this can be frustrating since this really affects your game stats. I understand that you don't want to have your account tarnished because of that loss that was out of your control. Though I can't help you in resetting your stats but I can help you with the bugsplat you encountered.

Bug Splat issues are typically caused by either your PC's hardware or graphic settings you have selected in League of Legends. If your client is crashing, please test these fixes in Tutorial Games or Custom Matches without other players (Bots are fine). Doing tests in these games will prevent you from receiving leaves or ruining games with other players.

The majority of these issues can be fixed by following our Bug Splat troubleshooting steps:

https://support.riotgames.com/hc/en-us/articles/201761974

Please follow all the steps in the article above so we can rule out certain possibilities. If the issue persists, please do not hesitate to contact me again and I will try to further pinpoint your issue. In order to provide you with the quickest solution, I will need a few pieces of information:

  1. A DxDiag: https://support.riotgames.com/hc/en-us/articles/201752674#wq5

  2. A List of running Processes: https://support.riotgames.com/hc/en-us/articles/201752674#wq3

  3. Your most recent r3d log where you experienced the problem: https://support.riotgames.com/hc/en-us/articles/201752674#wq7

In the other hand, I know you're worried about the being tagged as AFK by the leaver buster. Actually, LeaverBuster will provide a warning the first time it detects a left game or AFK on an account. If the behavior continues, the system will begin placing gradually harsher punishments on the account.

If you don’t regularly leave games, this shouldn’t be anything to worry about. If technical issues are causing you to leave games, I can investigate the issue with the following information:

  1. A Network Analysis: https://support.riotgames.com/hc/en-us/articles/201752674#wq1
  2. A NetworkInfo.log: https://support.riotgames.com/hc/en-us/articles/201752674#wq4
  3. A Process List: https://support.riotgames.com/hc/en-us/articles/201752674#wq3

Thank you!

My New Response. I'm sorry, but this is literally the first time I've had a Bugsplat between Season 4 to current. Sure I had some issues with it, once in a while, in Season 3; however, this is the first in a long time that it has ever happened. In fact this was the ONLY game, out of the rank and normals I've played in Season Four & five, that this has happened.

At this point I'm not even concerned with the Bugsplat, I'm concerned with how the game was Dropped. Entirely, it isn't showing up and it was removed from match history. Meaning either you, Riot, or a player managed to do this so that a person on the OTHER team wouldn't have a loss. This is a form of cheating, and you're run about responses that I assume are computer generated are more or less telling me you all Encourage cheating.

You'd think this would go against the summoner code, but it doesn't even warrant an actual response from support.

And before it is said, this is the first time I've ever posted an Issue I've had with Support on here. I feel that as of late all of Support has been computer generated responses and with this I'm hoping to show this. More so, if Drop Hack is something others are capable of that Riot has no intention of investigating the possibility nor do they care enough to listen to what it is you've said. What Irk's me more is that on support this is treated as "Solved," when it's anything but.

Copying before Riot Deletes it, if they're that low to do it. Maybe I should bring it to reddit, I might actually get a response there.

Did you check the other people you were playing with to see if they got a win or loss?

PROJECTJehuty1/23/2015, 4:39:45 PM1 votes

Can't, I have no access to their names to see on their match history. Also, Riot wont disclose said information because A) Privacy issues B) They don't even understand that I've stated this is not in my Match history at all. What brings it on that this issue is a Drop hack, not so much of the match History not showing up, but more so when a friend was spectating the game it too was dropped. Had the match continued, after my Departure, that in no way or form would have directly affected his ability to spectate. He would have just seen my character in the fountain; however, the entirety of the match ceased and abruptly ended spectating. Meaning, of course, that my team mates and the opposition also shouldn't have this on their history because the game was dropped entirely.

This can happen, it has happened in the past, once I had a Riot employee tell me in support years ago that yes, in fact, games drop entirely due to an issue on their part because the instability of the server + when several players drop from a game at the exact time the match is erased as if it never happened.

Meaning, in my opinion, that someone with said knowledge can easily exploit this and lag out several people on the opposing team as well as your own when loosing. That way, when all DC, the game is dropped and it isn't treated as a Loss. Also, because it's such a small scale Drop (Seeing as it isn't like a DDOS on the entirety of the League server) Riot doesn't recognize it as Server issues but a "Random occurrence." What is beneficial to the players that do this is essentially they could go through promo/Seeding and win every game, by just lagging out their games every-time when they are about to loose. Then when in actual rank trying to climb, they never have to worry about loosing seeing as they can just drop any game they so choose. Someone who is smarter, no doubt, wouldn't waste this on something such as just regular matches between divisions; however, that is to avoid suspicion with Riot. Then they use it to their advantage whenever in a series to benefit. Because the game never existed, it isn't treated as a dodge or a loss.

Ok this just happened to me just right now.

I got disconnected from the game and when it booted me back to the client I didn't see a reconnect or anything.

Then I checked my match history and it wasn't even there.

No trace of a game I played at all.

And I doubt is a drop hack since the game just started no point in doing so.
