[CLIENT] Hextech Crate Unlocks Already Purchased Content

I logged in last night and saw that the Hextech crafting had been enabled. I also noticed I had a crate for some reason (maybe everyone got one for free, I hadn't really been following the news regarding this feature, so it was a nice surprise).

When I opened the crate, I got a shard for a skin I don't want (that's fine, I'll reroll or disenchant it) and a shard for a ward skin... that I own (and have owned since Lunar Revel 2015; the serpent ward).

The best part is there is an option to upgrade it to permanent... for something I already own.

I really don't think that this system should give you things you already own, or at the very least not give you the option to purchase content you have already purchased (it should only let you reroll or disenchant if getting content you already own is intended).

I didn't try to "unlock" the ward skin permanently as I don't want to waste RP to debug a problem (however, if you need me to I will so long as you refund me the RP after we are done testing).

Thanks!

If you already own it - and it says owned in the top right corner of it then when you right click it it will show the option to upgrade to permanent HOWEVER it will not let you upgrade to permanent - it remains greyed out even if you have the required mats to upgrade.

You can get shards you already own(that's part of the system), You can either dismantle it into essence or wait until you get 3 shards, which you can then re-roll and it will create a ward skin that you do not already own.

Yeah. It's been doing that to me too. Giving me champions or skins I already own. And what's the deal with it being so hard to get purple shards? I've bought a total of at least 30 hextech chests and keys and out of all of them, one purple shard, and that was out of the free box you get for logging in.
