Reporting and the Client

I had an afk in my last game--completely reportable. It was a normal so I'm not salty about that, but I am salty because when I tried reporting him my client crashed. I would be okay if this was an isolated case, but this has happened to me I would say 75% of the time that I've attempted to report over the last few months. It's clearly linked with the crappy client we have right now but if Riot isn't going to work on this client then I really shouldn't play until they come out with their new one. Thoughts? The client bugs in general are irritating but this particular one is downright infuriating.
