Whats the point of the "Fill" or "Support rewards"?

Guaranteed one of your roles if you fill or play support, but has anyone not gotten their roles for not filling or playing support? I know I haven't.

if i fill i always get one of my two roles selected and not forced into auto fill

but i dont mind playing support... so maybe that is why i dont bitch about it

The point is that they say you have a chance of not having one of the 2 roles that you pick if you do not fill at least 1nce before the match. Also there is no point in this "system".
