Thresh Lantern & Teleport

I was under the impression that as of a few patches ago, maybe start of season 5, that you could no longer Teleport to a thresh lantern. I had someone Teleport to a Lantern and totally ruin my game with it a while back.

Is that officially back? Or is this a bug that needs looked at?

How did it ruin your game?
