Riven Q bugged or changed?

So I haven't kept up with the patches for like the past couple of months but I think riot made it so that rivens animation canceling got easier to do. However, when playing riven, her q feels like it is bugged. The direction of where I Q as riven is sometimes off to where I am clicking towards to. For example if i click on one direction and press q, riven will sometimes q in place, as if I didn't put any movement commands. I have also seen a lot of examples of this on youtube where riven's q goes to a completely different direction to where the player is clicking on. Is this a bug or did riot intentionally made it more complicated?
