I got demoted to Gold V yesterday. After winning a game I ended up with around 95 LP. I won the next game as well and as expected I was qualified for my promos. In the after-match window I received the message I had been qualified. However, that same window also already showed a green check mark, as if I had won my first promo game. I wasn't sure if if it were actually true but I also won the next game and I actually did get promoted.

It's the new Promo Helper. If you win a match in your promos but lose the series you'll earn a free win the next time you get to it. This goes up to Gold 1, and in Tier promos you can earn up to 2 wins.
