patch made client unresponsive

after patching I just joined a game, got through que and as soon as it launches the game "crashes" everytime i try and reconnect it says "game has crashed please reconnect" I tried restarting client, then computer, this has never happened before on my new PC so if i get banned or punished for this im actually going to be heartbroken :^) :^) :^) what do i do rip
