Rather simple, but also very important. To test it just play Ezreal with Deathfire's Torch and hit someone and it does not apply it.

This is intended. Ezreal's Q applies on hit effects, and because of this it does not apply spell effects, and since Deathfire Touch is a spell effect, it will not be applied by Ezreal's Q.
