GAREN ULT TOO MUCH RANGE
when u flash away from garens range of his ult it follows you when it should just stop.

Once the cast animation starts, it will always hit it's target, it doesn't matter if they flash away. The same happens with all targeted abilities, like Darius or Chogath ultimate, heck even auto attacks act this way.
Pretty much ZombieMaster explained but here is one thing. Garen's range has been the same 400. Only way to avoid it is to flash earlier. Or you don't flash if you are gonna die either way.
As has been mentioned you got to flash before the cast. Can't tell you the number of time's I've flashed too late and have died from an incoming auto attack.
