Switching Internet Connections Causes A Firewall Error

Being at Rice University, I frequently swap in between ethernet and wi-fi. Also swap between various wireless routers because there are numerous routers posted in my dorm room. I have noticed that when I open the LoL Client on connection A, it issues out a IP address A, so the client constantly looks for this IP. Before I start my next game, I switch to connection B, issuing out IP B. When the game gets past champ select and JUST about to load into the game, a Firewall Error Appears! I think this might have something to do with a Firewall Error.

Dear RIOT this is how this happens,

  1. Login to League on a connection of your choice, Ethernet or Wi-fi
  2. While logged in, Switch to the connection you did not choose previously
  3. Start a normal game, get through champ select
  4. Witness the Firewall error.

How to fix this:

  1. Stay with one IP from beginning to end of the game.
  2. If you have to change connections before the game, Log out and Log back in.

Unfortunately I am not at Rice right now, so i cannot generate a report, but this is how a problem happens. Can i get an acknowledgement from Riot??

You have to talk to an admin for the network, you more than likely need the game port forwarded, routers have security on the same basis as a firewall. More so on a University, or a business network.

Hey everyone, we're aware of an issue causing a firewall error message to appear after champion select. We're working on fixing the issue now.
