(GAMEPLAY)/(CLIENT)? absurd amounts of ms/crashes?

I keep having games where my ping is completely normal then it suddenly goes limitlessly higher all the way up to 11k MS. Ive checked with my family in the house to see if they were having connection issues while this was happening and they said everything is fine. I also had people in ny games that have had the same exact issue and now im pretty much getting punished for deserting even though I suspect this connection issue isn't my fault.
