Game Disconnected

So I was playing a normal game because I'm scared to play ranked with all the Mac bugs and problems going around after the new patch and client update, and all of the sudden my game froze and was attempting to reconnect. I exited the client and logged back in immediately and it brought me back to the lobby without the option to reconnect. My team didn't surrender because it didn't bring me back to the end-game lobby, and there is literally no history of the match. I'm just wondering if this is a common bug and did everyone else in that match also experience the same issue? Or am I going to get penalized?
