Turret cancelling aggro incorrectly

Has anyone else encountered any times where people are diving, but suddenly the turret stops firing at champions and starts back on the minion wave?

I know it wasn't because they weren't attacking me, had ohmwrecker, or walked out of turret range, and it's happened at least twice over the past couple days.

Am I going insane?
