On patch 5.7, I was able to quick self cast my heal onto myself (Alt+W).
In Patch 5.8, I can no longer do that.
Tried a few other self casts: Nunu - Blood boil (W) - OK Janna - Eye of the storm (E) - Ok Nami - Ebb & Flow (W) - OK
So it looks like something changed only for bard in patch 5.8.

Nor can you self heal or self ult with Kayle from what I've experienced
Same here, I tried every possible binding and it just won't work. Quick Indicator+Selfcast, SelfCast, Quick+SelfCast .. none of them work for Bard's Q. I also depend on QUICK SELFCAST "W"s for various mechanics like escaping team fights.
Was having ht e same problem. A rioter made a thread about the bugs associated with an update to the controls. Basically to fix it, there are new options in the skills and items menu that include "indicator" so you need to bind your keys to the "quick cast+ indicator". Personally i use quick self cast, so mine is bound to "quick +self cast + range indicator". Hope this helps. and you should turn off the range indicator optiona t the bottom of the hotkey menu.

I lost a game due to this or well, it would have made me less distracted thats for sure.
