Client won't start

I recently got a new laptop and found that after getting it all set up, either my launcher or my client seem to be having an issue. The launcher comes up just fine, but when I click Launch the launcher closes itself like normal, but the client never pops up. Going into my processes I can see that both of them are running, but for whatever reason the client won't show itself so I can actually log in and play. I have to continually manually shut them both down from my processes window and restart the launcher until it finally works correctly and the client shows.
