Has anyone else been getting random ping spikes and lag within a match despite the loading screen saying you have good ping(around 70)? Crashes too... I've been getting these lately and it is kind of a bother to explain that my 400-1000 ping is the reason why I am doing terrible.
yup same here, after i reinstalled the game bc other issues i still had decent ping spikes that go from 80-400 on a dime...
I also have this problem.. normal i have around 18 ping and thats great.. now i play with 100+ ping going up to 260... especially when the minions come and start to fight my ping goes up like no tomoorow also after a while it goes back to around 30 and it keeps going up and down! 30-260 after a couple sec back to 214... its incredible i have 2 modems at my home. my external modem has the most issues with it makes it unplayable, the main modem has the same issues but thats a ping from 30- 140 but still unplayable in my case. also after resetting both modems like a million times i get some better performance but it still occurs so i wont play any ranked soon! until it gets fixed.. also nemesis will be there without me.. makes impossible to play a normal game with just around 140 ping!
riot please fix this its around 3/4 days now.. lets say somewhere around 11-2-2015 / 12-2-2015 i think its something with the 5.3 patch... but untill its fixed no league for me

I too have this issue. Everything used to be fine but now I can't play at all because every 10-20 seconds I get a massive lag spike that lasts for a couple seconds. This is only an issue with lol servers and is independent of my normal internet ping. There doesn't seem to be anything I can do on my end to fix this either.
It's probably my connection from my computer to my internet but I'm supposed to be at 30-35 ms/ping but right now when it's "calmed down" it's at 42-46 ms/ping. I get ping spikes up to 300 ms/ping and then it goes back to being 40ish ms/ping for around 3-8 seconds and then spikes back up to 300 ms/ping again. It's really unstable and I'm unable to play ranked and get back to Gold... 
I normally play around 60 ms ping...that's been a great change from my 140+ before the server transfer. Since the recent patches I still get the same ping, except now while in the middle of a match I'll shoot from 60 to 300 then upwards of 15k ms. I've even seen it hit 24k a few times. After a few spikes like this, then I'll get the reconnecting to server popup and my ping will read 500 exactly. I haven't had a consistant match since the last patch was dropped. It seems to be fine until I start interacting with the enemy team and/or creep waves, then is when the ping starts to really act up.
This has been happening to me as well. The loading screen ping will seem fine and then once in game my ping will go all over the place. So its not a constant lagg but a wild fluctuation. It makes a Zed player sad:(
Yeah, every match at some point I'll get a 10-15 second long ping spike from 70 to 700 but after it goes away I don't have any other issues for the rest of the match.
Yes same here its definitely their servers because before patch 5.3 everything was good it makes a Saroka main sad :(
