Gameplay Bug - Galio
Ok, so there are four instances that appear to randomly occur while I play Galio. One I KNOW is a bug, one appears to be a bug but may be related to settings, the remaining two might be mechanics related but I am unsure.
Number One: Cowardly Entrance Every so often, when performing Heroic Entrance, Galio will take off into the air, stop, then slowly land back on the spot. I have no idea why this happens, and it is incredibly rare, but often game changing (as Galio's ult tends to be when successful). One example I can think of is when I tried to Ult Zed, it might have something to do with his relocation ability, but in maybe 50 games, it has happened 4 times, so it's hard to be specific as to what causes it.
Number Two: Concussion Upon using Heroic Entrance, the camera tends to do, well whatever it wants. It stops following Galio (as I have it set to follow champ 90% of time), and pressing Y (to reset it) or space ( to recenter it) does not always work. I find in big teamfights, I am spamming y or space to get the camera back to normal, losing precious seconds, often making me less of a hero and more of a clean up crew.
- This one is pretty consistent, 4/5 times I ult, I have to adjust camera in some way, but only with Galio, not Nocturne, Shen or Reksai or other huge relocation abilities.
The remaining two might be gameplay, but I would like clarification.
Number 3: Prefer being a statue Fairly often, when using W (taunt) or E (knock up), Galio will stop auto attacking and just stand perfectly still instead. If not, he might try to move somewhere else, cancelling his own auto attacks (only after E), This can cancel his combo and give the enemy a chance to get out of his range, so often means losing a fight when it does happen. It happens both with engages, and prolonged fights, and I think it has something to do with the interaction with his passive. To test, auto attack a target, after two hits to make sure he's locked on, use Q then W (your passive should be off by then), if you don't reselect the target, he will just stand there, even if the target is still attacking you. The same applies for his E, except less often. Sometimes you can't cancel the auto (incase u want to give the kill away), other times he just doesn't follow up even when you want him to, losing those much needed seconds before the enemy walks out of your range.
Number 4: Hero's Buckle Fairly often, when performing Hero's Punch, Galio will only travel half the distance, failing to hit his target. I do not know why he sometimes does this, but even upon full extension, sometimes the collision box seems off, as he overlaps with target, but doesn't knock them up (this occurs at max range, only or if the charge ended early but you are overlapping but not hitting the enemy). It happens maybe once a game, but not frequently enough to narrow down the cause.
- A related issue which is more of a bug and likely collision box related, is that his Hero Punch often allows him to jump back, through an object, but collides with the object on the return journey. An example of when this happens to me (quite frequently so I had to change how I farmed), is by red buff on the left side, I often pull the red creep into the brush to avoid snipes. If I use Hero Punch, I sometimes stop early or collide with wall, even though I did not collide with it on cast. This also happens by the raptors on the right side. I often go to steal them if I am playing from the left. Once they are weakened from Q, I go to finish them with E, I jump back towards left side of map, then collide with the wall.
- The reason I am sure this is a collision bug, is because normal interaction with Hero Punch, means that if there is a wall, the hop back cuts short as you collide with it, and you take off from there (I often use this to escape, as it stops you colliding with enemies that are behind you).
