[Gameplay] Charm + Unstoppable Force

I saw an Ahri Charm seem to stop Malphite's Unstoppable Force midway, causing it to knockup the area the charm landed rather than intended area. I have my doubts that it was a fail aim because the ult stopped about an inch after it started which was a long way away from where the Ahri was (if he missed by human error, he'd have landed at max range without hitting). I want to test this out but the bots unfortunately don't coordinate with me, so if anyone can confirm or disprove this it would be helpful. The only other possibility I could think of was a misclick of smartcast, I guess.
