[CLIENT] Memory Leak Upon Logging In

Upon typing in my credentials, the client freezes my computer in the process of closing the login screen and opening the in-client screen. For 20 - 30 seconds, my entire computer is frozen and unusable, I have to wait until my computer unfreezes to do anything.

This only happens upon logging in with LoL. My computer does not freeze otherwise.

  • Running Windows 8.1
  • NVIDIA Geforce Graphics
  • All drivers up to date
  • All Windows updates installed
  • All other gaming software (DirectX etc) up to date.

Steps to Reproduce

  • Login to LoL to freeze
  • Log out and restart machine
  • Log back in to LoL to freeze again

Fixed as of Patch 5.13

Pretty much the same thing happening to me, but I'm using a Mac. Submitted a request to Riot support, but still no answer. The Client just says "Logging On" and then crashes..

Yup got the exact same problem. Currently have not found a solution and that is why I am here.

Edit: Oh ya, and it ONLY happens after the first log in
