Jinx rocket bug [GAMEPLAY]

When i play as jinx and i shoot my rocket if i die before it hits my target it doesnt do damage. i dont know if this is intended or not but just the fact that its a rocket and it explodes on impact makes me think it should do damage. Just thinking on the logic of it, even if it missed it does aoe damage so it would still damage the person. everytime i play jinx vs vayne she will live with 1 hit left and because her attack reached me first my rocket didnt do damage and kill her. Just have jinx fight with an enemy champion and when she dies anymore of her basic (rocket) attacks even if already launched will not do damage. this happens 100% of the time so im aware that it could b on purpose.
