So and so sent you a gift!

I had a friend send me a gift about a month ago. Every time I log in it still says "So and so sent you a gift!" even though I already opened it. How do I make this message stop popping up?

If you click on the bell icon for notifications and directly click on the announcement itself for the gift it'll play an animation showing you your gift and will never pop up again.

Found this out when getting stuff from the BE store for the first time.
