Loss after winning

Summoner's Rift 5v5 Playing as Gnar top

My team does very well against enemy team and forces enemy team to surrender. As the "victory" message is about to show, my team mates jokingly surrender. The victory message continues to show for us.

When going to the after game statistics, we are listed as the defeated team. Is this supposed to happen?
