No assit for Diana?

So I was playing a game of aram when in attempt to "help" my teammate I used her 'e' to quick pull the enemy away, or to me and away from my ally, before diving into their squishes. However when the champions went down, I didn't get an assist. Is this a bug, or does it actually need to damage them?
