Mega Gnar's Q not blocked by Banshee's Veil

I was in game as mega gnar against an ashe with Banshee's Veil and twice in a row she got hit by the boulder with her shield up. This happened both when she was hit by the splash damage from it and when it hit her directly. On a similar note I'm not sure if this bug is fixed yet but I have seen mini gnar's boomerang break Banshee's on the way out and still hit the target on the way back.
