Game is Still in Progress....
Won't let me load in. I legitimately just queued for the game, never loaded in. What? Why was this only happening with the patch that ranked was implemented? I'm getting an 8th place loss from this more than likely.

As with the OP, I never even loaded in. I accepted the queue, the Client went straight to "Game is still in progress" - I can't do other stuff, I have to wait for the game to end. So it takes the maximum amount of time it can from me with absolutely no benefit. It's neat.
They should reset our placements personally and treat this trial period like pre-season at this point in time.
go into ur task manager, close every instance of league until u are left with no league session open, and then reopen and sign in, fixed. LEGIT upvote for people
Riot doesnt care about summoners rift anymore. Only TFT matters to them because it is bringing them more views. The fucking scryers bloom bug has been in the game for almost a month now. Even though its minor, it shows how little Riot gives a fuck.

Now I have to wait for the freakin game to finish before I can do anything. WTF Riot
disgusting, how hard is it to programm a freaking queue that dosnt get fucking stuck, cant count how often you messed up loading screens and q's over the past years :0=

2 fucking game now for me.
I tried playing again and got an error message upon getting into the game. I closed the client through my task manager and reopened it and it sent me into the game but I wasn't able to get in until 2-2.

Exact same problem as described by others:
Queued for a match, accepted, League client minimizes, but no new window opens. I tried quitting the client and logging back in, but the same thing happens. When I bring the League client back up, it just says "Game is still in progress..."
I'm running Win7. It happened on my LAS account. Lots of fun. /s

Just happened to me as well. Never loaded after que for a normal draft game. After champion select the game never loaded up and the client stayed at the "game is in progress" screen. Windows 10 64 bit.

just happened to me... what a fucking shitty rotten company that is riot games. I genuinely hope that the dev get cheated on by their wives for being the cucklord that they are.
this has happened to me 3 times in the last 24 hrs. ive tried to contact riot support and they wont even respond to me its pissing me off only way ive been able to fix it was a complete uninstall and install which takes over a hour to do each time i dont have the time for this crap

Its easy, just open task manager and close the league of legends (not the client one), and start the laucher again!!

Happens to me as well. Have been demoted down two silver 4 from silver 2 because of this glitch. Leaverbuster is kicking my ass. Does riot even care?
This happens to me every single TFT match. It really just makes it a hassle to enjoy the game mode. This has been this way for me since the mode was released.

Found the fix you it is open you just cant see it press ctrl+alt+esc and search for LoL and close all programs with that name. fixed it for me! (Please upvote so everyone can see.)
It happened to me as well after I finished a game placing 5th and left the game when I returned to the client it just read "Game is still in progress..." because I left the TFT game while it was still going.

Now I have a feeling it'll make me keep seeing the game in progress screen until the whole match is over, not when I'm defeated :(
Just got demoted because of this garbage
Here's what worked for me: Open the task manager - go to processes - find League of Legends.exe - select it and click end process. After that the button to reconnect should appear in your client.
