Stuck in Loading Screen bug (critical bug)

I've seen it mentioned around online before, but it now just happen to me for the second time.

When loading into the game, sometimes after it reaches 100% it freezes, and you never actually enter the game- even though it starts. You know it freezes because the circle top left stops moving.

The only way to get away from the screen freeze is to log out (of my windows account), or restart. You cannot exit any other way, opening task manager doesn't work.

After I get back in, enough time have passed that the game is lost. since you lose the rounds against the minions you get no items, and no gold. you also lose hp, and miss out the possibility of combining champions. Both times this have happened to me I have gotten 8th place- and with this being in ranked it is a very frustrating experience.

This needs to be fixed, it is a critical bug since you basically lose the game from the start.

This happened to me today, lost 21 LP and remake, just because riot refuse to fix that bug i'm struglging even more getting higher in elo ty.

They wont do anything about it because riot doesnt give a damn about 1000 players when for rest of them it works perfect its End of September and RIOT STILL DID NOT FIX IT + IT IS NOW WORSE BECAUSE IT IS NOW 35 sec loading screen freeze so gg riot again you prove you dont care about us*[sg-shisa]* [sg-zephyr] [sg-ahri-3] btw just try to ban me for this post i dare you

This happened to me several times and I have to force a shut down by holding the power button on my laptop to fix it, I can't open Task Manager or any other app. I have an Alienware 17R4 with a GTX1070 and Intel Core i7-6700HQ so it shouldn't be a problem with my laptop.

I am also having this issue. It usually reaches 100% and freezes the loading screen. To me it has happened in ranked and normal, as well as Aram and TFT - specific for TFT I can hear the music playing, although I cant see anything but the frozen screen. It seems to have happened after a Windows 10 update, but could also be the latest patches for League of Legends, Im honestly not sure. Ive uninstalled and reinstalled League of Legends, initiated full repair, uninstalled antivirus program, fully updated Windows 10, removed all temp files. I have also reported the bug on several occasions, and I have never had such issues with League of Legends, except when they change their client. If something is wrong on the players side, please share it with us.

Happened to me twice today. Loading screen is 100% and then it freezes and I have to restart my computer. It felt awful the first time it happened cuz when I connected at 20 mins I stole baron nashor from the enemy team and was actually quite useful yet still lost lp even tho we won : P

I don't play League very often anymore, but I love TFT and I would play a lot more if I didn't have to deal with this bug every other time I play this game. This needs to be fixed. I have a very limited time frame to play games and I can't risk the waste of time on such an unreliable launch success rate. Please fix it.

The same has been happening to me, I suffered a lot with it over the summer and it went away for a while BUT now it's back!

It's despicable that nothing has been done, I've raised a few tickets but still, nothing. Has no one found a fix for it yet?

Happened today aswell after the new patch, but to me it happens even in regular games. I noticed that the bug only happens if the game is in fullscreen. I have never encountered the problem while the game was in borderless or windowed.

A quick SOLUTION I found is to set task manager to always on top. Then when LoL Loading Screen freezes, press the Windows Key first, and then Ctrl+Shift+Esc while the Windows menu is up. Task Manager will then actually open and you can End Task the League of Legends (TM) Client, League will then have a Reconnect button.

You know what the worst part is! Part of the bug is that you're permanently labeled as AFK whether you actually make it or not! >:(

Happens to me too, every third game or so. Had it like 12 times so far, so I could test it. Sometimes I can kill the process on the background (ctrl+shift+esc), alt+tab to the task manager window, down arrow (once or twice, depends on the position of LoL process) and delete (and sometimes enter). Doesn't work always, sometimes only restart is the option. And about how to fix it - I usually get the "the problem is on your side, do repair" generic response. Repair obviously doesn't work.

Riot, Its been 4 months Fix this god damn bug. I happens to at least 1 person every 2 games. My buddy got 4 remakes outta 5 cause of this. He only played 1 game within a span of 1:20 mins

This bug has become much more frequent as of late. It has lost me 5 games out of my last 20. Even worse, it prevents the computer from alt-tabbing or going to task manager, so one time I actually lost unsaved schoolwork because I had to restart the computer to escape the freeze. I don't know what to do. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling the client. I've surfed the fora. There's no apparent solution.

This bug makes me afraid to try to play League. I downloaded DotA today. Gonna see if I can get my MOBA fix through DotA from now on. Sigh.

I've invested so much time into learning League, this is so upsetting.

SOO client freezes every 4-5 games and i have to restart my pc to rejoin. Now thats annoying but usually i get back in time for the 1st minion wave. But recently as i restart my pc and open league it says repairing and does all the updates again. IF THIS KEEPS HAPPENING IM DONE WITH THE GAME AND I VE BEEN PLAYING SINCE SEASON 2. EUNE SERVER

I found that its way less stressful to just uninstall and tell riot to go f*** themselves. Untill this is fixed im not playing, not giving them anymore of my money ether.

Why support a game that doesnt care about the issues they create. Its starting to feel a lot like.... Blizzard.

its just funny, that its a thing for MONTHS. every 3rd/4th game freezing on loading screen, which loses u the game and u get reported if u try to reconnect cause u are late to the party.

had this problem on and off for a couple of months now. i get to the loading screen, and every one else is at 86% but i'm at 40 and don't know it. i can click on the portrait cards and flip them, the loading circle in the corner is still going just at a lower number than usual and i never log in. the game registers me as being in the game apparently but i'm still in the loading screen. then i get a message when they remake saying, "the game is over " and i end up at the end game stats screen with everyone's scores like i played and lost. so annoying. my friends won't play with me now cus its usually me that it happens to.

It happened to me too and it is happening right now. I can't alt f4 or ctrl shift esc , nothing works, the screen is just froze there, the ping circle in the left corner stops and it happened also before. I resetted my pc and at first it didnt happene, but now, 2 days later, here i am raging Riot.fix.this

Another way to reconnect faster, hit ctrl alt delete and click sign out. Then sign back in to your pc and launch the client, its much faster then restarting and always works. [slayer-jinx-wink]

Just happened to me. Waited for about 20 minutes, kept trying to alt+tab and windows+tab, but it wouldn't close, so I had to restart my computer. Then when I get back in I get that stupid Leavebuster warning, where it tells you that you'll face harsh penalties for leaving too many times, even if it's unintentional. C'mon Riot, I just got back into this game, I really don't wanna stop playing because I could potentially be banned and lose all my stuff I've had since season 2 Dx Please fix it Dx
