The SFX on Titanic Hydra are annoyingly misleading.
The SFX for
show a 60 degree cone that travels roughly 3 hexes in length, crossing 7 or 8 hexes.
The actual area hit by the Hydra's splash is a 60 degree cone less than 1.5 hexes in length. A melee champion will only ever splash 1 tile beside the one they targeted (because there will always be one hex directly behind the target), whereas a ranged champion can splash one or two, depending on the angle of the attack.
For reference, here are some screenshots from my Nidalee using Hydra to maximum effect against Darius. https://ibb.co/album/gXgsWF
(ImgBB screwed up the order. The sequence actually goes 3rd, 4th, 2nd, 1st.)
As you can see, only two champions are splashed, even though four are washed over by the SFX.
Also the splash appears behind the primary target, giving the impression that the primary target is not hit by the effect. It is.
Can't we just have it like Graves' shotgun? 4 tiles (including target) hit always? Balance-wise, that would make the item a bit OP but really, what item isn't? They all need a little nerfing IMO but that's beside the point.
The point is readability and accuracy. The SFX should show over the actual area hit and only that area. It's just irritating that the effect shows ~7 hexes covered by the splash when the reality is 2, maybe 3 if the user is ranged.
