Ran Away from Damage, Weird Animation and Didn't Die as I Should Have

I was low on life and ran into the corner to delay my death, I lost and got hit by the damage from all the alive champions, the last hit from the player was going to kill me but the animation was delayed, it didn't hit during the round, the game transitioned into the carousel where the hit animation played inside my circle, but I didn't take damage there either. Ended up living and winning the game instead of finishing 3rd as I should have.
