I only play tft, but have to have an honor level of 3 to get into the PBE? I'm so used to Overwatch where you can just jump onto the test server. Why does Riot restrict PBE? Is there any way around this? Thanks guys :(
I mean it just makes 0 sense. Let's be honest here. TFT needs to have an honor system attached to it. If you want players to test your changes on a PBE server, but don't want TFT only players having access, it makes 0 sense. As a game developer ask yourself, do I not want the players who play my specific game mode testing the changes and new patches to it? Or players who put time into a completely different TYPE of game? The answer is obviously NO, but RIOT does not understand why bugs and tuning are a real issue in TFT when patches go live. It really is quite sad.
Riot's PBE has to take on the demands of every server playing it since they only have one server available for it. And its a bigger game overall than Overwatch. That said, TFT should absolutely be linked to standard progression because of nonsense like this. If people want to test the changes they have to be active in LoL, TFT is considered irrelevant... yet how are people going to test TFT if they're primarily TFT players?
Like I forget how many games it took me to get Honor 3 but I wanna say its like 50-100 games. You have to play LoL regularly to generate the games and make sure to be polite during the process. I know if you get honored regularly it gets done quicker, but even when I was getting several honors a game it took ages.
Getting honor 3 doesn't takes no time whatsoever, just play a couple of normal matches every now and then and you'll get there in no time and there is no way around this.
I agree wholeheartedly with this OP. I only downloaded the league launcher for TFT. Now, if I want to get more involved, I have to play LoL and obtained honor 3. I dont play moba's, I dont like them - but I'm forced to participate in a Moba just to be able to test/see changes in a game I do like.
