Alleviating some RNG and 'dead' turns. A suggestion for a new mechanic.
In this game there are sometimes turns where the correct play is to do absolutely nothing. I think this is an OK thing, because it can give you time to weigh odds in your head, think about how you want to develop your team, consider if you should purchase any champions, if rerolling is worth the cost. So, even if you end up choosing is to do nothing, there was a lot of reckoning that still took place.
However, if TFT is the only thing I am doing, I will always waste gold rerolling because there is nothing else to do.
Now this may needlessly complicate the game more, but I think it could also help get rid of some bad luck. It will also cut down on turns where you do absolutely nothing. My suggestion is this.
Every 3 turns you get 1 free reroll. You may pool up to 3 free rerolls. Selling an upgraded Champion will grant you 1 free reroll.
Now you have some more choices to think about per turn. Do you save your free rerolls for when you level up? Do you try and steal a low level upgraded champion to sell later for another reroll? Do you use it early to try and get that 1 star champion upgraded (also gives more power in denying an opponent certain champions from other players if you choose them)? Risky transitions out of strong early-game units (Currently Druids / Predators) will be less dodgy.
I'm just spitballing here, but one problem I see right away is that it may also help someone who is already steamrolling, steamroll even harder.
