What TFT Ranking really means?

I just recently made it to Plat IV and then won another match. I looked at the board and I noticed that my rank is 115 and that if I cruise on down to Plat I, it goes straight down to number 1 from 115.

What does this actually mean?

I know this does not mean that I am ranked 115 out of all the players on the NA server. So what does it mean? Are there different brackets inside the brackets?

If anyone knows how this works or if I am dead wrong and I actually rank 115 in NA, please let me know.

Thanks a ton, Khronnix

It just means you are rank 115 in that specific plat league, which actually holds no value at all so you shouldn't pay any attention to it. By a specific plat league i mean you are in a specific named league in platinum like "Poppy's warhammers". There are multiple named leagues in each tier and you just happen to be rank 115 in your specific league. Friends are usually placed in the same league. As i said before though, pay no attention to it. It's pointless and means nothing.

what it means is that you have reached the rank that now provides less than half of a rank for a win and basically a demotion if you lose. it's stupid.
