Having the same issue. It always happens either at the very beginning of a game during the loading in screen(in which case, it'll make it so I can't even close the loading window, alt+tab out or task manager it, leading me to reboot my entire pc) or at the very end of the game as the base is breaking. Gonna try the Hextech Tool but idek if that's gonna work.. Had no issues with this until this latest patch.

Yea this happened to me too, also on normal league matches. I talked to a rioter and they confirmed that this was a bug and that they are fixing it right now. I suggest just doing something else besides league for today.
Same thing has happened to me twice now. Except it wasn't in Tiltover's Finest Tactics (because RNG) - it happened both times while loading in ARAM.
Loading just sat at 100 %. I wasn't even aware something had crashed on my end, so I just kept on lifting while I waited for everyone to load. :/ At least the reconnect was fast (not using a toaster), but I was 3 minutes late to the party...
EDIT: Video driver is 430.86 (EVGA GTX 1080), released May 2019.
And it just crashed again. When loading in ARAM.
EDIT 2: Whatever was done, the bug's still there. Seems consistent first game after switching from Tiltiover's Finest Tactics to any other queue.
...What was that about a separate client for TFT?
this keeps happening to me as well, and the league window refuses to minimize for me to even access the task manager. I had to restart my computer every time, and no amount of repairing has fixed it. :/ [sg-lux-2]

I have found a solution... when the error happens just wait. After a few minutes the game will shut down and you will be able to hit on reconnect again. This time it will work
SO what worked for me -> if you have the error, close the game with task manager and launch the game again. You should be able to recconect again, let me know if that works.
Problem fixed: After updating my graphics it worked again! You should look after your graphic driver! It worked for me.

Got in the game but was faced with the 8th place screen lol
I went to Task Manager and closed all the LoL related apps, and also background processes, log in and if the error comes back up hit no and reconnect.
Ok i found an actual solution, tho you might have to do this once in a while since the error occours again but....
Go into your league of legends folder and delete the "config" and "logs" folders.
These will automaticly reappear when you start league again so dont worry. Your configurations will sadly reset but hey, its a fix so you are able to play atleast.
Also the client will choose NA as default so whenever you get into login screen make sure you change to the server your account is on.

Open up your task manager and end any league of legends process running, after you close the game completely, then run it and it should work fine
my graphics card is a gtx 1080 with fully updated graphics drivers... cant load any league games. This ONLY happened with most recent update, before that i played tft daily, and ranked sometimes.

Same thing is happening to me, I believe i found out the issue. I went into Windows Task Master Processes.. ended every Blitz.exe program running and the problem stopped. No more Critical Errors after TFT Victory/Loss screen.

this happened to me just now during a blinds game. i had to completely uninstall the client just to fix it becuase the repair tool didnt know what was wrong.
Edit: second game today i crashed and cant join back in with uninstalling being the only way to fix the problem. im just waiting for that report from automated system now knowing that it cant recognize its own problems so it will fall on me...
