Some hot tips for this hot garbage mode
-
Remove the carousel. Why? It rewards people that throw matches just to get first pick and (as with everything) its COMPLETELY RANDOM! Now you're nerfing player damage so this is even more of a viable strat. Also its a clunky, stupid, intermission to an already INTERMISSION LADEN game mode.

Remove item stacking -- just because this is a new game mode doesn't mean you throw away the 10+ years of balance experience in the garbage just to rediscover OH yeah two Shojins on a caster might be a bit much!

Don't drop gold on PvE rounds. You hear players scream "gold can be invested!" and turn around to stare down two WARMOGS on a meta pick (like Shyvanna) that will easily roll over your stupid extra rank 2 that you saved up for. Turns out items are greater than the sum of their parts. Wow, who would have thought items can synergize? Even IF (A FUCKING HUGE IF) items were a small part of the game, getting gold is a kick in the nutsack anyway. I ALREADY GET GOLD! GIVE ME SOMETHING ELSE TO THINK ABOUT WHILE IM WATCHING THE PAINT DRY

Remove streaking. This is a stupid mechanic period. Especially a lose streak (a 100% chance to attain, just put up all your rank 1s and rake in the money). Win streaking is less of a problem but just another fucking random element thrown in without ANY thought. Why? Who am I playing against? Where are their units? How are my units positioned -- which brings me to my next point.

You may as well remove unit positioning. Unless you can set aggression stances or some sort of behavior per unit to perhaps target certain units (of which you would need to perhaps be privvy to existing) you are positioning with very little foreknowledge. So what happens? Clump unit together defensively. That way it REMOVES THE ELEMENT OF RANDOMNESS. All of it is just random, random, random and the second I get a chance to mitigate that randomness I TAKE IT EVERY TIME!
I see no TACTICS here. I've played Final Fantasy TACTICS and to think this game uses that same word insults me to no end.
