Noble is ruining this game

TFT is literally just a race for noble right now, and it's honestly really not fun. Every game I haven't tried to get noble I've lost to a noble comp. This really needs to be fixed. Tbh this is the only time since its release where I haven't been enjoying TFT.

There shouldn't be 1 comp that trounces everyone else. Takes away from the tactics/strategy aspect of the game. In my 1v1s, I've played literally all completed comps against nobles - 6 blademasters, 6 sorcerers, slingers, demons, etc and tried all sorts of positioning adjustments (while the nobles player can literally afk) and I've lost every single time. Anyone is basically resigned to 2nd place against nobles.

I made posts, before, complaining about Nobles, too. But, in retrospective, I think the problem is not the Noble buff itself, but Kayle.

She's too strong of a unit, even after the recent nerfs. Her making 2 targets unkillable for 2.5 sec is too OP, leaving your units hitting 2 immune targets like dummies, while that Draven or Jinx is kicking your ass. And yes, I said Draven or Jinx, since nowadays every Noble comp needs one.

They really need to change Kayle's ult to something else. Something like:

  • targeting 1 unit (lowest %HP) and each rank the duration goes up (3/4/5 sec). I think it would be better to play against, while also being a good ult to use herself.

  • Or maybe make it like the SR ult where it only shields 1 unit for 2/ 2.5 / 3 sec and then deals damage to every enemy near the shielded target, in a radius of 1 / 2 / 3 hexagons. Also, the damage increases each rank: something like 200 / 350 / 500. The damage need to be a bit low since the ability has too much utility.

However, with all being said, I still wanna say that I actually beat Nobles with many differents comps, but you need item 3165 or Red buff in each of them. Here are the comps that I beat Nobles with, not so easily though:

  • 6 Shapeshifter / 2 Demons / 2 Dragons... (Swain + Shyvana carry)

  • 4+ Gunslingers / 3+ Blademasters... (Jinx + GP and/or Yasuo carry)

  • 4+ Brawlers / 3+ Sorcerers / 3 Void with the occasional Phantom buff if lvl 9. (A.sol and/or Karthus + Cho'gath and/or Vi carry)

  • 4+ Brawlers / 3+ Assassins / 3 Void... (Rengar + Cho'gath and/or Vi carry)

  • 6 Demons / 3 Elementalist with the occasional Glacial debuff. (Swain + Brand + Aatrox and/or Morgana carry)

  • 4 Imperials / 3+ Blademasters / 2+ Knights... (Swain + Draven and/or Yasuo carry). Although I will say that one time, and only one time, Katarina did solo carry me late game because I invested 3 items on her (2 seraphs + Ludens).

And I witnessed my friend beat Nobles with 3 Void / 6 Assassins as well (Rengar and Zed + Cho'gath carry).

The only truly op thing about nobles and the reason everyone spam them is that they are easy to understnad, you need 6 nobles and a carry, knowing that you know what units to buy, not like brawlers void, brawlers sorcery, yordle shapshifters and so on where you need a lot of specific components and combination of classes to make it work.

Garen is adopted8/25/2019, 1:48:34 AM2 votes

well yeah but actually not. Nobles are not the most op part, you can bring kayle in any comp acutally and use it better than on nobles. In fact, I think if you go 6 knights and an carry you have more chance to win, espeically against nobles (that are mainly focused on dps and guess what, knights counter it without anything else than their presence). The only real problem is literally Kayle, trust me, I abuse nobles as hell and rarely someone know to counter (isee people for some reason trying assassins most of times to burst my jinx/draven, isnt ending to good for them). Brawlers are still pretty busted, especially Cho gatch, Gnar is a stupid champion in a stupid origin too that can solo your team if you're unlucky and have no rfc and a lot of hard cc. Nobles are just a late game insurace countered by a lot of things like:

  • bursting kayle down
  • GW
  • literally another nobles
  • a kayle in enemy team using ult on whatever your dps focus
  • balanced glacials free stuns
  • brawlers in some cases, depending more on items and formation there.

If anything I truly think nobles needs a buff, even a direct one, or on every champion except kayle, and for kayle to increase her mana cost a little.

Another issue is that Noble units are relatively cheap. Fiora, Garen and Vayne are all 1 cost units and Lucian is 2. While most of the other comps units have only one or two units at 1 cost. I think they need to increase the cost of one of them to 2 cost, either Vayne or Fiora.

don't know, don't have much issue with nobles, only kayle lvl 2 in any comp is cancer, and jinx/draven are still obscene with **ANY **frontline, and nobles simply can easily fit them in.

certain items, hextech, kayle lvl 2, some hyper carries like jinx, draven and karthus, those are the real issues

Porglit8/25/2019, 4:54:12 PM2 votes

I've routinely beat Noble comps. There are ways to make it happen, you just have to know how. =)

Darkstar Annie8/25/2019, 12:58:05 PM1 votes

Full team of 6 sorcerers and 2 demons can destroy a team of 6 Nobles and 2 whatevers (Knights, Glacials, Imperials).

Ratpie8/25/2019, 3:53:50 PM1 votes

I really don't think it is nobles synergy that is the problem. Most good comps can nuke past the buff. Gunslingers/blademasters/sorcs, the only one I feel like that struggles is a tanky comp that can't burst (brawlers/void). The problem is Kayle's ult. Almost every round I will blow away half the noble team in a second but then kayles ult starts going off and I lose because all my champs are attacking 1 or 2 champs that can't take any damage. I will have like 8-9 champs vs their 4 left and still lose because I cannot do any damage and the ult is up too often.

A few suggestions: -Make Kayles ult only affect 1 champ at a time. or -Reduce Kayles attack speed or -reduce overall how long or often the ult can be up. or -make Kayle's ult take longer to charge after the initial cast (make her mana pool high, but start with some mana.)

If someone is stupid and puts kayle in the back corner so you can blitz, nobles melts so easy once kayle is out. But if Kayle has decent position it is almost impossible unless you get a lucky AoE that pops Kayle first. That is why sorc does well vs because Sol or Karthus can nuke kayle no matter where she is put.

i want to hear a high elo player's opinion on the matter tbh

what does scarra think of nobles?

Vonyalo8/25/2019, 9:56:15 PM1 votes

This game mode is cancer in it's purest form. I don't know what do you expect from a "roll a dice" type of gameplay.

Reaversal8/26/2019, 2:44:52 AM1 votes

It's probably a minor thing, but the fact that completing Noble also gives you a tier 1 Knight bonus on top of that seems a bit excessive.

Only 15 flat damage mitigation that late in the game doesn't sound like much, but that's on top of the big resistances from the Noble buff.

they are nerfed on pbe. dont worry about it.

Maleagant8/27/2019, 11:06:18 PM1 votes

Fiora is probably the single weakest champion in the game if you don't take origins/classes into account (she is only useful because she is a noble and a blademaster)

its getting nerfed again next patch

I feel like I've seen "[Trait] is ruining this game" for like, 2/3s of the traits in the game...

Sussiex8/24/2019, 10:37:05 PM1 votes

The only time I have successfully defeated a Noble comp was through use of Sorcerers - I had an Aurelion Sol with deathcap + Seraphs. The burst typically allowed him to 1 shot/hard chunk tankier units, but without that unit on my team they were just too bulky from noble passive.

In any other circumstance, I was stomped to the ground. Heck, most of the time the round ends with minimal damage to the enemy and it feels pointless to even try against the comp.

Kshaway8/24/2019, 11:39:48 PM1 votes

The only way times I ever beat nobles is with Morello and units like, Sejauni, Cho'gath, and Gnar

These 3 Units really help versus Nobles, as they have huge crowd control area of effect.

But I agree it is very dumb that all games are build a comp, level early, high roll for Kayle, transition into nobles, and get top 4.

RadeticDraws8/25/2019, 5:38:56 AM1 votes

Ikr I have always tried other combinations but time and time again they just wouldn't work (other than one time when I finished with 100HP using pirate+gunslinger combo) so I decided to join them and start using noble

It is sadly what people must do in order to get lp

Nobles do too much tbh

Compared to knights just auto damage reduction for the team or guardian which is just armour for whoever is touching them ... nobles provide MR and armour as well as on hit life steal for the whole team when at 6 ... granted its when its 6 units but its still too much .... i would honestly just prefer the onhit lifesteal but buffed up a bit
