It is pure random.
Sometimes you get 3 champs in a row. If you staying at low lev enough so you can try to colect low lev champs to lev 3 but it is not way to win a game. You still need much more - mostly luck and luck again.
Hyper-roll is apply in 2 situations:
When you got at least 6 unit of the same type till Krugs. Some players try at 5 but it's risky. This has less than 10% chance to happen.
When you have nothing to lose: non ranked games or low division (when you lose few LP for a lose and gain a lot of LP for a win).
Any other situation hyper-roll imply a huge risk to finish 7-8th position. In this case when more players have nothing to lose they will force egg-roll each time, so obviously at least one of them will succeed to have more golds units.
Conclusion: if you want to see less golds units then play ranked games and climb to higher division.
it used to be fun but in season 2 they programed an unfair algorithm which make the game more "exciting" but at the same time super unfun.
also a lvl 7 or 8 full comp of silvers is better than a lvl 5 or 6 with 3 gold and 2 or 3 bronze almost always.
