Anyone else feel like this last TFT patch was a huge step backwards. I loved the new set and I felt like it was a huge step forward from the previous set where every game was riddled with brawlers + Jinx or knights with + Draven . I actually felt like I could go whatever I wanted and If i eco well and don't force I could get top 4 no problem and summoners were really the only problem I saw. Now I play a game and get a nice glacial, poison, ranger, beserker ... w/e comp and if its not a combination of mages/summoners/infernals you lose. Last game I played of TFT i pointed this out to my friend and once I got fifth I read out the comps to him and these were the comps

  2. infernal/summoners
  3. mages
  4. summoner/mages

Maybe I just suck at TFT but I stopped playing it halfway through last season cause I got sick of losing games because i didn't go brawlers + Jinx or knights with + Draven and I feel like RIOT is taking this set in the same direction pigeon holing certain comps into the game.

I've been winning with light/ranger and predator -> ranger/poison/crystal comps (and I think this one might be the strongest, since it works with pretty much any items; you don't NEED any specific items for it like you do with most other comps, and every unit is a potential target for stacking. Mana items? stack Kog/Rek-Sai. Damage/attack speed items? Stack Noct/twitch/ashe. Tank items? Stack Skarner (thornmail/spark/warmogs skarner is good)

Summoner/mage comps can be really fragile if you have the right set up against them or they don't get the right items.

Berserkers are still good, but I do think 6 berserkers is probably questionable unless you spat or hit 3*. 3 zerkers with glacial/poison + 2 rangers seems like it'd be best, since it gives you more carries and more synergies; stacked twitch/ez/singed and stacked Olaf is still good. Core of Olaf/Mundo/Volibear/Twitch/Ezreal/Singed; then you can add in 4th glacial and mystic/cloud. Blade/glacial spats are both good in the comp. You can drop Ez/4th glacial and only run 2 glacial and go 4 blades if you get a blade spat for Olaf.

There are always going to be "best" comps. There's no getting around that, but right now, there are at least 4 or 5 comps that take 1st with the right items.
