TFT Thoughts for set 2 - who needs some help and how?
Champions -
1 Cost:
Ornn - Early electric is about all he's useful for, and with lux counting for 2 he's the obvious odd man out. Same holds true for other wardens. Feels much worse than all other 1 cost units except warwick. He'd benefit greatly from having another electric champion available (4 cost feels right) so 3 electric is a mid game possibility where it would actually be effective and 4 electric doesn't require lux (a big sticking point for me)
Vayne - Light is pretty strong in general but if that gets nerfed vayne will notice it most. Feel like re using her would have made a good opportunity to change her ult into tumble/condemn. Not so much a cry for help but someone to keep an eye on since she's horrible outside of that 1 comp.
Warwick - Terrible. Max glacials isn't really seen anymore, and the other predator frontliners are better. Don't think I've ever seen him 3 starred. His mana pool is huge, and his ult often counteracts with him being predator. Usually anyone he leaps too dies and he doesn't really proc heals for himself so its super wasteful. I'd say change the targeting on his ult to highest health and reduce his mana required to cast.
2 Cost:
Skarner - Predator's lack of an endgame character seem to hold them back in general, but with skarner also being crystal he has no solid place in any team. Crystal is another group that needs a lux for the best possible setup, and skarner is clearly the worst crystal champ. Similar to ornn he would benefit from another early/mid game crystal champ being added. That alone would give him front line relevance.
Varus - His slow arrow cast is just a killer for me. I can't ever justify using items for him when it misses and feels inefficient even when it works properly. Consider making his arrow fire faster based on his atk speed? Like vayne I would have been stoked to see his ult changed into hail or tendrils moreso for his current clunkiness than anything.
3 Cost:
Azir - Feels a little weak for me. Probably my least used summoner. He fills 2 solid quota's, but 4 desert doesn't seem to be worth the investment and other summoner's are just better. I'm tempted to say give his soldiers on hit procs, but that could get out of hand quickly. More base attack speed would probably be the safest buff.
Ezreal - A lot of things hold him back. First, his ability misses a bunch. 2nd, 2 rangers feel great, but using 4/6 just doesn't seem plausible and other rangers have better abilities and elements. I've already covered glacial's lack of use. Honestly I expected him to use barrage as his ability. With his current Q issues (misses a bunch, can be blocked, single target) the only way he's ever going to be used is if he's overtuned. He needs a major change - cost reduction, a different ult, idk. Honestly feels like a 1 star kit for a 3 star cost. Him and ww are in a race for worst set 2 champs and they're both winning atm.
I have no major issue's with any of the 4+ units atm.
Comp Diversity -
Some of the end game bonuses don't seem.... worth it? 4/6 Blademasters, 6 Summoners, 6 Rangers, 4 Desert, 6 Glacials. You're almost always better off with the minimum amount of these bonuses so you can build a more well rounded team. I don't like the Lux dependence for crystal/electric and the same holds true for inferno and steel. Yes 9 inferno's is achievable, but it takes a ton of good RNG and I'm not even sure the benefit is worth it. It feels like a trap. In steel's case, it can be an extremely powerful tool, but I'd like at least 1 other steel champ to access in those games where I could benefit more from a different type of lux.
Items -
Item wise, only 2 really feel like they need work. Frozen heart is just a worse version of iceborne at this point. The other is repeating crossbow. It's a pure gamble that things will die in a way that it ever lands on who you want it to stacked up. Even when it does it's often too late to make a difference. And finally, the items it takes to create all have much better use cases. I will never build it. Maybe frozen heart can become catalyst? Made for tanks to gain more mana when hit? IDK. Having a hard time finding niche ideas for items atm.
Drops -
Only problem with drops is when you get a spatula item that you have no champs of. Usually that deep into the game your lineup is pretty much set in stone so even if you get something relevant spatula wise it's hard to make it useful.
New Champions to help fill out the roster -
1 mid/late game predator with carry potential ?talon? 1 steel - either 1 cost or 4/5 cost, whichever feels healthier (probably the latter) ?rammus? 1 crystal - 3 cost some type of caster 1 electric - 3/4 cost ?ryze/ziggs? 1 blademaster - 1 or 4 cost, so you only need 1 spatula made to achieve 6 ?riven/trynd? 1 infernal - something that can frontline ?galio/amumu/alistair?
Sidenote - Would be dope to see karma at some point in tft.
